Spent most the morning convincing Juniper to go down the pole at the park.
She stood there crying for .. um.. way too long. felt like 20 minutes. im not too far off.

I was so torn between, making her do something I know she can do, and just letting her be HER.
Its a constant struggle for me as a parent. I was never like this as a child. I was balls to the wall.

but, my dear little child is sweet and afraid. and .. well... shes awesome. in her own little way.
She could paint with watercolors all day if i let her. What 6 year old has that sort of patience?
my june bug does.

DO i push her to be someone she is not naturally? I know i have to to a certain degree.

Shes shy . and thats ok. but.. .. ...
where to draw the line. when to push her and when not to? that is the question.
I know if i didnt push her she wouldnt know how to swim (LIKE A FISH!) or light up on stage with joy) I know she wants to do these things. i see her jump forward, then hesitate. second guess herself. I want her to believe in herself. But.. i want her to be herself.

I cant remember the last time i drove in the city... i felt like a 100 year old granny with no license on the autobon.
I used to have no problem hauling ass down the streets of SF when i was 16 in a HUGE ass blazer.
what the hell has happened to me?
OH, and im retarded, and didnt think you needed to pay for parking on weekends. Where did i get this idea?
i got a ticket. whatever. at least loosing $50 isnt as devastating as when youre 16.

had portraitts at the palace of fine arts. which sounded like a good idea, but was kinda tricky.
i am so not a landscape portrait photographer.

PS___ ordered my very first peice to my dept 56 halloween town . YAY . ive always wanted to do it. and i bought one damnit. and im gonna get a piece every year. yay!

i just got invited to my first "mom party"
holiday gift exchange with a bunch of moms form school who are about 10 years older than me.
no use sitting around bitching that i dont fit it. and that i dont have a lot of mom friends that understand what im going through.
got to get my ass up in the mix and hang out.

a while back , when i was a menacing teenage girl, my parents shipped my stubborn- hard- headed- pain- -in -the- butt -ass off to Petaluma. In the hopes of ... well... im not quite sure. I guess just to get me out of their hair . I guess that was cheaper than the whole "military school boot camp things where they can hit you". Oh yes, I saw the pamphlets.
(ok, i know. Avery is sooooo my child)

Long story short. I met a rad girl. named Kelli. my neighbor. my only friend in a new school.
and, let me tell you.. I had the best of times. errr.... sorry mom and dad.

Although the miles still separate us , we will forever be connected .. and a little visit goes a long way. even if they are few and far between.

I helped organize an awesome leaf project at school. Juniper made a sun fish and a sea turtle out of leaves. amazing! i loved seeing all the kids different creations!!

all in a nights work.

well...i went out! which, i generally dont like doing. i like going to bed early and having wine iwth friends in my living room in my pajamas and watching stupid shows with them. to me. thats the good shit. thats livin the life.

But, my husband said i needed to go out. so i did. and i made the rounds. i hit up the pedraza's where andy totally started my night off right making some strange concotion of a drink that totally got me drunk, and I ended up dying shawnee's hair and playing with photo props with her hella funny brother and rad as hell mandi. it was rockin.
Then i was off to fenandos . which was not my cup of tea. i think its kinda ghetto there unless is full of cool people i know. and i didnt really want to dance. blah! Im an old lady now ok! so i watched my friends dance and had another drink.
so.. i was off to the farmer . which was cool , but sad to see all the old Pleasanton Hotel furniture gone. boo. you know me, i dont like change. but, whatever. they had funny pictures on the walls of farm animals. and i was diggin that.
and the fries were bomb. and i was in the bestest of company. at least i enjoyed them. not sure they enjoyed my drunk as bu that point. i downed 3 glasses of water to sober up. i had a wedding the next day.

and... introducing my new camera! yay! its shock proof!
My hubby decided after multiple camera fatalities. i needed a shockproof camera.
on its first night out, i dopped the damn thing 3 times. =) OMG im such a spaz.

but, i proceeded to take pictures of everything. including my drinks. but i wont put those in .
