In the meantime, I'll do a little tutorial, in case anyone out there googles "Dr. Seuss projects" on his birthday next year. I combined a few ideas online to create this simple project for kiddos.
Guess I should have taken step by step pics. oh well, its simple enough.

(If you find a pic you like better, just white out the clover like I did here) 

Have kids color, glue to construction paper background. 

I made some "clovers" out of pink pom poms, and glued them to green pipe cleaners with tacky glue the night before.  Then have kids glue their "speck" onto the clover. 

punch two holes around trunk area.

Brandon, the bestest husband in the world, dressed up as cat in the cat again. Same classroom, 2 years later.  It seems like we were just in Juniper's 1st grade class doing the same thing! AAhhhh it was a fun little project, & a little emotional for me, cause Im a total sentimental freak. LOL.
