Oh my god! im so obsessed with facebook, i almost forgot i didnt mention anything about the hula show. which, has been a ridiculously huge part of our lives for the last couple weeks. like... practice and rehearsals all the time!!!! hours and hours of rehearsing and costume making.
I was seriously up till odd hours of the night finishing costuming deadlines. yikes! it was crazy. the whole time, swearing (just like last year) that i would never do this again.
really people... for two weeks in a row it went like this.. sat practice 12-2 costume workshop 2-6 sunday rehearsal 1-5, wed class 5-7, (let me reiterate.. those are all times two) THENNNNNN dress rehearsal friday 4:30-9 , and then the big show...they had to be there at 10 in the morning, and we were there until 9! holy hell!!
anyways.. too many details.
what im trying to say here, is this is such a huge commitment its pure craziness. it all sounds fine and dandy in the beginning.
and then when your son starts puking the week before the big show, youre like.. fuck, i just spent $400 in costuming materials (along with hours of sewing and drilling, yes drilling). and my kid is gonna miss the show. OR.. just stand up there and stare into space.
he actually puked all over at dance class. thank god brandon brought them to that one. eek ! wow , my husband is amazing.
The show turned out to be incredible, and the kids were just amazing. the pics i have are from the dress rehearsal, and avery was soooo nervous to be on stage. once they did the run through and we grabbed him from backstage , he came out yelling..
"DID YOU SEE ME!!! I WAS ON THE STAGE!!! I WAS ON THE STAGE> I WAS ON THE STAGE"
I actually think he said it more than three times.
After the first show he was sooooooo proud of himself it was just too ridiculously cute. brandon and i were just glowing with hapiness. literally. tears in our eyes to see our little guy up there with a smile the size of .. oh i dont know.. huge!!!
I think it was such a huge accomplishment for him, and it was really great to have some positive attention for a change.
Ok, so here are my pics from the rehearsal. you cant take pics at the show or video. torture. blah!
