meow!!

this was such an amazing experience for all of us, especially juniper. she basically birthed all these little guys. it was incredible, and the instinct that animals have is unbelievable. she just licks everything off, and chews the umbilical cord, like shes done it a thousand times before. here's the first born..
i love the look on her face in this pic. she was in awww for hours, never loosing patience, just fixated on the babies. waiting for more to come.
this is her favorite one....shes named him/her "black white". Trying to think of a more creative alternative to black and white i said,
" well.what about oreo? since oreo's are black and white"
juniper, "thats not a name for a kitten. thats a cookie." (silly me)
i said.."oh, ya, i guess youre right."
despite the fact that brandon and i love the gray stiped ones, and the fact that ill be the one hollering "black-white" in the evenings, we told her she could pick one to keep and name.


it seriously scares me how much she loves the kitten already. she checks on them all day long and hand feeds the mama piece by piece bits of food. I wake up in the middle of the night having nightmares about the dog getting to them, or the thing just dying. not likely situations, but my overwhelming instinct to protect june, wants to obliterate any chance of hurt. crazy, i know.
