butt , boob, turd, etc,

Since my children are constantly finding humor in battling it out between eachother with such phrases as,
"theres a butt crack on your face!" or "theres a boob in your eyeball!"
at the most un-opportune times.....we have taken to using even funnier words to distract/replace them...
such as, "ornate wobbegong" (type of shark) and "Kokosnuss" (German for coconut)
Both of which are equally amusing to them, but dont sound as bad echoing across the supermarket check out lines.
Avery -"Juniper!! there's a Kokosnuss on your arm!!!!" (insert hysterical children laughing here)
so far its working..i just need to come up with some more funny words.

sneaky mr dimple face

im in the kitchen cleaning up ...avery walks up to me with a "bouquet" of dandelion flowers with this darling look on his face.

"here mommy...something special for you!"

surprised by this random act of sweetness..i holler "oh my goodness! thank you so much baby!!!! " i hug him and wait for him to hand the flowers to me, but i can see something else is in his hands..(junipers lip gloss) so he is having a hard time hiding the lip gloss and handing over the flowers at the same time.
As his plan starts to foil, i see his little eyes thinking as fast as they can.
I take the flowers
"whats this in your hand?" i say

eyes looking up at the ceiling...he replies, "um...maybe its not make-up mommy"
he smiles huge, he says i love you, and walks away.

what!!?? that was way too thought out!!! dude, i am SO in trouble with this one.(my mother would insert the word 'karma' somewhere right about here) ...well...at least he is stopping to think about what he does before he does something. now, just need to work on thinking about doing the right thing, not making up some elaborate sneaky plan! but, like i said..im stoked he's even stopping to think at all before diving into other peoples stuff.

no, i didnt let him get away with squeezing every last inch of junipers new lip gloss onto the carpet, but those dimples almost persuaded me into doing so.

a girls night out...

i said..."brandon...im going out for some drinks with the girls(@6 oclock) ill be back in about an hour or two. i stayed out until one in the morning!!!! dancing in downtown pleasanton ( i know! who knew there was actually a place to dance in pleasanton!?) i cant remember that last time i stayed up that late!! ha haaaa!!! but i was still on hawaii time, so that helped!
...a well needed night out with my lady friends...

although ive been home for only a few days..it feels like ive been home for months already. my how life just starts kickin your ass the moment you walk in the door from paradise.
i have some cool pics from our trip, but not nearly as many as i thought, since.. you know..there was sand everywhere.. and children near water kept my eyes on the ocean instead of behind the lens.
but..in a nutshell..it was amazing. i was ready to pack my bags and hop back on the plane once we landed back home. and...this time..bring my bed with me. have i mentioned our new bed?? ahhhh...its a knockoff of the temperpedic. it rocks. its about the only thing i missed on our trip.

Juniper is almost FIVE! holy crap!

every second of the day juniper asks if we can ride bikes. first thing in the morning, first thing after nap...
so...on the day of her party , she woke up from her nap, and I said "lets go ride bikes before your party" She grabbed her helmet and ran outside to get her old bike...and found this one!! she was kinda shocked..like "no way..is that for me?"

i was starting to wonder if the crysalis were every going to hatch...this was just a couple days ago..and they were still moving (creeeepy!!!) ..but..yesterday, i peered in to see a beautiful moth!!! so cool!
