this year...

I am embracing that my child is different. 

I am choosing not to medicate him. 

I will fight for him & his rights at school.

I will surround him with the love he needs to thrive. 

I will enjoy & embrace the good moments, and continue to be persistent & patient with the bad ones, even when I think I'm going to break.

All the people who stuck by our side and helped us through the years..  when others turned away...your support means the world. 

Thank you to all who where there when I was balling on my couch..on the phone.. after a hard day... instead of judging me... you were there for me. 

Thank you to his teachers&therapists who gave me the tools & resources I needed when I was most lost.

Thank you to my husband, and his undying patience & support in stressful times. 

Thank you to my daughter for your compassion and understanding. I am amazed by how big you are inside, and am lucky for you, and will try hard not to expect too much from you, just because I can. 

Thank you to all our friends who teach their kids to be patient with our kid.  & thank you to your amazing children for being such big people! 

For the times he threw a pine cone at your daughter's head, or dumped water on your sons bed...  

Thanks for understanding, & loving us as we are. & know that he loves you like family. 

He is happy and healthy! & as long as we continue to surround ourselves with people like you (you know who you are) .. i think we'll be just fine. =)  

This year is gonna be a good one!!! & OMG... just look at that cute little face of his.. my silly little guy..

lots of special birthdays lately

Happy birthday to the love of my life. 

Cole turned 3!!!happy birthday my little friend! i love you!

Happy Birthday BaBa Lorinda!!! A Sparkler for a candle , and fireworks to top off the night. BaBa is the firework queen, so it was only fitting! 

Melissa had her big THREE-O!! She said she didnt want to do anything, I said.. um.. hell no, we are doing something! So, we had cocktails and had a dance party in my backyard in the middle of the afternoon. 

Had a blast at the waterslides for Isaiah's bday! Its always so awesome to be together with old friends. 

first grade . all day.

For years, most days went something like this.. 

Starting a business was hard. There were many days I felt like quitting. I just wanted to be a mom.
But I was always afraid to take my foot out of the door, because i knew this day would come, and it would all be worth it.

For the first time in over 8 years, I will have more than 5 hours a day to myself. Its very bittersweet.

I am looking forward to getting my work done during the day, & staying off this damn thing once the kids are home.

But, I know I will miss my alone time with my little guy terribly.

"I am sad for tomorrow. I wont get to see you all day" , said my little guy, with heavy eyelids, after butterfly & eskimo kisses. And then ten regular hugs & kisses, followed by one more kiss for luck. "no.. just one more.. one more mommy!" =(

oh my oh my. they are both all grown up.

And I am not sure how to feel.

I just HAD to have this

Avery calls my mom's Blazer  "The Blizzard". because that's what he thinks we are saying.

There is this turtle at the East Bay Vivarium that costs $200.

So, he says
"Baba, you should sell your blizzard because you could get $200 and buy that tortoise."

My mom got us some mantis egg sacks , and they hatched in our garden! 

She knows that they are my favorite bug in the whole world! and the babies are beyond cute. 

now they can eat up all the bad bugs!
