thursday
aaahhh spring is here!!!my absolute favorite time of year! The hills are green, the flowers are blooming, its baseball season(aka nacho time), its just downright awesome!
oh, and its also work time. pictures pictures golf golf golf (no, not for brandon, the people he works for)
Finding mellow time is harder and harder to come by this time of year, but we make a point of fitting it in.
Last week, all in one day.. we got dougnuts and coffee and went to the skate park to let the kids ride thier little weird cars around, then rode bikes, did yard work and drank cocktails, sunbathed, had a water fight, hit up claytons baseball game, and then hung out with friends in the evening. it was a fun busy day.
Juniper and Chloes Kindergarten teacher's son is on claytons team. so rad! P-town has that small town feel even though its not that small. and thats part of why i love it here so much.
Averys new buddy Zooey. =)

bye bye guppies
a few weeks ago our precious guppy population was plauged with some sort of bacteria infection from a new fish.
It was horrible. We lost all but a few. =(
After daily water changes, adding multiple fish medicines, and then water testing over and over again, we have the tank back in check. =(
Im just glad we have been able to pass some of our guppy babies to others so that their family legend can live on.
this is "zebra stiped" . Hes not a guppy. Before the bacteria showed up on their skin, we thought maybe he was the one responisible for the first few casualties.
love this cat.
chase's first sleepover!

baby boy
Avery tries so hard not to cry when we drop juniper off at school. its too cute.
Sometimes he just cant take it anymore, and runs after her to give her one last squeeze and kiss.,
"junper!! i love you more than the whole wide world"
then, turns around towards me, grabs my leg and buries his face.
Oftentimes dragging his feet the walk home , or walking backwards so he can see the school while he walks.
=)
So, this morning i asked him what he wanted to do today, he said,
"make butterflies"
=)
this is my favorite age.

spotted puffer fish
ok, so .. . i am obsessed with puffers. hence the name of the blog
i freaking love them.
no, i fucking love them.
Ive had my eye on this big jade puffer for 3 weeks now. I had him on hold for a bit, but then took him off.
puffers are territorial and fighsty. they will atack and kill eachother in an instant. I wasnt sure i wanted to get him and mess with the harmony of my tank.
my tank consists of two big spotted puffers, 3 mini pea puffers, 2 bumble bee gobies, and a small figure eight puffer.
Most people would think.. ok, no big deal. but let me tell you! this is a big deal! having that many puffers in one tank together.
ive always loved my "first born" spotted puffer the mostest. so, all the others ive introduced to the tank have been smaller, and not a threat to him, so sad to say, i havent worried too much about something happening.
However, today, i purchased a large jade puffer. i LOVE him. he looks like hes smiling. my main concearn would be him eating my spotted puffers. wish me luck!!! im watcing him like a hawk!!!! if he lies one fin on the others.. hes outta there!!!!
il post pics soon.

babies.
Avery will be 4 in a few weeks. The life that ive known for so long, in fact.. the only life i can remember, is finally winding down.. . Its like everything that ever happened before children is insignificant and millions of years away.
Our todllerhood years are over. For the first time in 6 years we no longer have a baby in the house,... as my youngest turns into a kid I can have a conversation with, as tantrums become fewer and farther between.
the Little man sure has a mind of his own, and now he can actually express it! Which, is helping wonders for my sanity!
Avery is my little cuddle lovey. , all hugs and kisses. will wrap his arms around you and cuddle you all night if he could . Juniper is getting older, starting to let go a bit. starting to think more about other things , not just mommy and daddy. And I just realized, wow.. pretty soon he will be junipers age, and wont be kissing random friends on the lips anymore, and holding hands with his buddies , walking around at the park, or running around naked without a care in the world., or saying silly things like . "I want to watch Harry Poppins". and "actually mommy, Im breally breally serious" .
And Yet, as these baby moments pass me by.. .i can no longer picture myself with a stroller and diaper bag and spit up on my clothes. a life that once consumed every part of my being physically and mentally has slowly dissapeared over night.
My primal yearning and longing for a big belly and baby on my boob is gone. completely. These feelings, or lack of, constantly surprise me. after juniper, i thought id have at least a couple more.
probably because juniper was a breeze of a toddler.
As the crazy neurotic role of motherhood (that i swore i would never become) sneaks up on me more and more each day, i try to enjoy it. live it. be it. The moments that slip away so fast. especially now that i know, this is it. no more babies.
Our days are filled with new adventures.. Juniper learning to read! . Avery making new friends, Juniper creating a life of her own. camping, bike riding, traveling to near and far places. , going out to eat at restaurants!
We asked juniper if she wanted to do the daddy daughter dance again this year. Her response
"hmm maybe this one last time"
Um... ok..
The things we once did for them, we are now hanging onto, and doing for ourselves. Once she found out she got to wear a cinderella costume for the dance, she was stoked. oh my. here we go. i just had to get a girly girl.
