mountains
here we are floating down the river..
just got back from the feather river... met my parents up there.
We used to camp there all the time growing up. its always super nastalgic going back.
I buried a time capsule with jessica .. and i couldnt find it! damn!
aahhhh man.. i could sit around a campsite all day and eat and drink and be merry.
today was spent mostly rafting down the river on tubes with the kids.
so nice.
hit up the belden town bar on our way out to have some cocktails and play ping pong while the kids played on the lawn. truly splendid.
My son is obsessed with beef jerkey , or just plain "beef" as he calls it. lol.
"i want some beef!!!!"
Took a sweet little jeep ride up to Seneca, which is an old mining town with nothing left now but a bar. so rad. totally random. its seriously 15 miles up a dirt road into the middle of nowhere.
reading "snow crash" on my iphone, which just seemed wrong at first... reading a book on my phone? wtf? but, now i think its totally awesome, cause ..
first off, brandon and i can "buy a book" and both read it at the same time, which is fun, and secondly, you dont need a headlamp to read in your tent at night.
crap, back to reality. booooooooooooo

After A While
a newspaper clipping from jenis gma that chloe found while we were moving.. i love it!
"After a while, you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesnt mean security,
And you begin to learn that kissses arent contracts
And presents arent promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
With you head up and your eyes open,
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child,
And learn to build all your roads on today.
Because tomorrows ground is too uncertain for plans,
And futures have a way of falling down in midflight
And after a while, you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much.,
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong
And you really do have worth
And yo learn and learn...
With every goodbye, you learn."

first grade
well first grade sure is different!
man.. i really feel like the baby years are over now!
get up. get ready. go! and juniper comes home exhausted!!! But, that will pass, so i hear.
I miss her soooo much! its so strange that she is gone all day! And, Avery misses her even more.
I can see our lifestyle is going to have to adjust slightly to this new school year. We really have to make time for homework now. yikes! early dinners, bathtimes, and bedtime on TIME! everynight. eek!
